William C. Wade, Principal Mr. Wade received his Bachelor’s Degree from Alcorn State University in Secondary Mathematics Education and his Master’s Degree in Education from Christian Brother’s University in Memphis, TN. After working in the Memphis City School District for nine years as a high school Math teacher, Basketball Coach and Baseball Coach, Mr. Wade moved to Atlanta, GA to pursue leadership opportunities in Education. While working with the Atlanta Public School District, Mr. Wade received a Leadership Certificate in Education Leadership from Jacksonville State University and an Educational Specialist Degree from Lincoln Memorial University. While working at the largest high school in the Atlanta Public School District, Mr. Wade assisted in the planning and implementation phases of the largest Ninth Grade Academy in the District.
Mr. Wade served as the Small Learning Community Leader at this school within the comprehensive high school. Mr. Wade also served as a teacher in the Magnet Academy. In the Magnet Academy Center for Engineering and Applied Technology (CFEAT) he received extensive training at the Rochester Institute of Technology in the project Lead the Way Curriculum, specializing in computer aided drawings using Auto CAD. Mr. Wade’s last assignment in this district was as Assistant Principal at Alonzo A. Crim Open Campus High School.
He assumed the PMA principalship in the summer of 2009. Mr. Wade has made an immediate impact on the instructional programs at The Philadelphia Military Academy @ Leeds. All classroom teachers are encouraged to make direct contact with the students daily and with parents regularly. He places great emphasis on the “whole child.” Mr. Wade understands that learning does not occur if the needs of the individual learner are not addressed.
Under the leadership and cooperative work of Mr. Wade’s Leadership Team, great strides have been made to identify the students’ needs through data collecting and analyzing the same. Everyone is held accountable for the education of our students, especially the students. Mr. Wade encourages the students to have ownership of their education and, ultimately, their future. With direct and practical approaches as previously stated, Mr. Wade has no doubt that the students of PMA will step into the future prepared. |
